GEI Rwanda: Global Mental Health (Summer II) 

Program Overview
In this 4-week practicum, students are embedded in local organizations to contribute to mental health initiatives focused on youth outreach, trauma recovery, education, or advocacy. You'll support program implementation while deepening your understanding of cultural and systemic influences on care.

Program Highlights
  • Participate in supervised placements with mental health service providers
  • Gain hands-on experience in areas like stigma reduction or trauma support
  • Engage in weekly reflection sessions with GEI mentors and peers
  • Build professional and ethical competencies in a global context

  • MED333: Global Practicum (4 credits)

Unique Experiences in Rwanda
Rwanda's growing mental health sector is rooted in post-genocide resilience and national healing. Students engage with both urban and rural partners, learn from local leaders, and explore how policy and grassroots action intersect.
